Moody’s updated its credit opinion on NORVIK BANKA

On 09 January 2008 the international rating agency Moody’s Investors Service updated its credit opinion on NORVIK BANKA (Latvia). Moody’s assigns a bank financial strength rating (BFSR) of D- which translates into a baseline Credit Assessment of Ba3. The short-term GLC rating is Not-Prime. The outlook on all ratings is stable.
Among the Bank’s strengths the report mentions new strategic investors with banking experience and contacts, implementation of a substantial reorganization program, satisfactory capital adequacy and good asset quality.
The rating may be upgraded if the Bank continues strengthening its franchise, shows further improvement in its liquidity, funding and credit risk diversification.
NORVIK BANKA is one of the oldest banks in Latvia. As main goals of the activity are set, proper organization of the Bank’s internal processes and highly qualified personnel, that is essential for satisfaction of the clients’ needs. At the end of 2007, the volume of fixed capital of the Bank was 54 million LVL, volume of asset – 620 million LVL.
